What we publish

Sphera Credit publishes guides to loans in Canada, educational articles about credit and tools. They help a reader understand a product, its cost and the rules that apply to it before speaking with a lender.

Who writes and who reviews

Each loan guide and each article names its author and, where a second person has reviewed it, its reviewer, with their role and credentials. Uriel Manseau and Joseph Edelmann, the founders of Sphera Credit, answer for what is published under their names.

Our sources

When we write or review a page, every figure, rate, fee limit and rule is checked against a source. We use primary sources first: the text of a law or a regulation, the page of a government or a regulator, the Bank of Canada, Statistics Canada, or the terms a lender publishes. Each guide lists its sources. Once a guide has been reviewed, it also shows the date each source was last checked. When we write or review a French page, we cite the French version of an official source when one exists.

Pages are reviewed in turn.

Dates

Most pages show the date they were published and the date their content last changed. A guide that shows no date yet receives its dates at its review. We change the updated date only when the content of the page changes.

Independence

Sphera Credit is a technology and marketing platform and is not involved in any lending or brokering activity of any kind. Lenders set their own rates, terms and decisions. Where a reviewed guide lists lenders, they appear in alphabetical order within each group, and the list is not a ranking or a recommendation.

Software we use

We use software, including AI tools, to help draft, check and translate content. A named person remains accountable for every page.

No advice

Our content is for informational purposes only and does not constitute financial or legal advice. Only a lender can approve financing.
